About Chungki Min
Chungki Min was born in South Korea. At the age of 12, he won first prize from the Korean Minister of Education at the Young Musicians’ Competition and began to study music theory and composition, later expanding his interests to include conducting. In 2002, he continued his conducting studies with Dennis Russell Davies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and took part in master classes with Peter Gülke, Neil Thompson, and Myung Whun Chung.
Since March 2011, he has been a teacher at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, while at the same time conducting concerts in Europe, Asia, and the USA. He has worked with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the PKF – Prague Phil harmonia, the Symfonický orchester Slovenského rozhlasu, as well as the KBS Symphony Orchestra and the symphony orchestras of the cities of Bucheon, Incheon, Daegu, and Gwangju in South Korea.
He was Artistic Director of the Austrian-Korean Philharmonic Orchestra from 2016 to 2018 and recently conducted the Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires at the Teatro Colón.
