About Marlis Neumann

Canadian-born harpist Marlis Neumann studied with Taka Kling at the Univ ersity of Victoria in British Columbia and with Judy Loman in Toronto. Further studies followed with Helga Storck and Vicky Müller at the music academies in Munich and Dresden. Her chamber music engagements have taken her to Germany and Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, France, Poland, the USA, and Canada.
As a soloist, Marlis Neumann has performed at the aDevant garde Festival in Munich, the Munich Biennale, the Cantiere d’Arte in Monte pulciano, Festival in der Wies, the Franz Reinl Foundation in Vienna, the Künstlerhaus Villa Con cordia in Bamberg, the Polish-German Harp Symposium in Krakow, the Inter national Harp Festival Katowice, the Gesellschaft für Neue Musik Frankfurt, the Bayerische Akademie der Schönen Künste, the Eckels hausener Musiktage, and the Asiago Festival. She has given numerous world premieres and first performances, including works by Wolfgang Rihm, Mauricio Kagel, Wilhelm Killmayer, Moritz Eggert, Tan Dun, Ennio Morricone, and Markus Schmitt.
