Would you like to submit your compositions, arrangements, or educational materials to us? 
Here’s everything you need to know about sending us your manuscript and the key points to consider.

How to Submit Your Manuscript

Before sending us your work, please review the following guidelines:

1. Does your work fit our catalog?

Before submitting your manuscript, ensure that it aligns with Schott Music’s repertoire.

• Please note that smaller works (e.g., a single choral piece) are difficult to market and may not receive sufficient visibility in our extensive catalog.

2. A complete manuscript is required

• We only accept complete manuscripts. Incomplete works, drafts, or abstracts will not be considered.

• Concepts for educational material or instructional literature must be fully developed.

• Book manuscripts must include a synopsis.

3. Copyright considerations

If your work contains elements protected by third-party copyrights (e.g., texts, melodies, illustrations, pictures):

• These must be clearly identified as external rights within the manuscript.

• The name and life dates of the respective authors must be provided.

• Please provide at least the source link for photos taken from the internet, and for stock photos, include the image ID or reference number.

4. Accepted file formats

We only accept digital manuscripts in the following formats:

• Sheet music: Sibelius or Dorico, along with a PDF

• Text documents: PDF or Word

• Illustrations & photos: JPG

• Audio recordings: MP3 or links to common streaming platforms like SoundCloud or YouTube

We do not accept printed manuscripts or physical storage media (CDs, USB drives, etc.). Unsolicited paper manuscripts will not be returned.

5. Submission process

• Please send your manuscript via email to [email protected].

• Include a brief introduction about yourself and your work.

• If your file is too large for a single email, compress it as a ZIP file.

• If using an external file hosting service, the link must remain permanently accessible.

Important Information About the Review Process

• Due to the high volume of submissions, the review process may take some time.

• Please refrain from inquiring about the status of your submission.

• If you do not receive a response within six months, please consider this a rejection.

• Unfortunately, we are unable to send individual rejection notices due to the large number of submissions. We appreciate your understanding.
