Xavier Larsson Paez was born in Menorca in 1991 and received his first musical training in his hometown, where he learned to play the violin and saxophone. He completed his academic studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with a concert exam and a master’s degree in New Music. He has performed as a soloist in major international concert halls, including the Musik verein in Vienna, the Cologne Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Palau de la Música Catalana, and the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid. He has also worked with orchestras such as the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hanover, the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, and the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra.
Larsson Paez has won numerous first prizes at national and international competitions, including SaxoVoce, Intermusica, and the Classic Winds Inter na tional festival in Cologne/Bonn. He has received scholarships from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Alfred Toepfer Foundation, among others. He has also won first prizes as a chamber musician, including the Men dels sohn Prize and the Coop Music Award. In addition to his concert activities, Larsson regularly serves as a jury member at international competitions such as the Andorra Sax Fest and the Singapore International Saxophone Summit. He is a member of the Fukio Saxophone Quartet and the SpiegelBild Trio. He also participates as a violinist in various projects with the OCIM chamber orchestra. Xavier Larsson Paez currently teaches saxophone at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin.
