About Ursula Hesse von den Steinen
Ursula Hesse von den Steinen studied singing at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin under Aribert Reimann, among others. Opera engagements have taken her to the Hamburger Staatsoper, the Semperoper Dresden, the Oper Bonn, and the Komische Oper Berlin and abroad to the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Opéra de Paris, the Oper Antwerpen, the National Opera of Prague, the Théâtre National de Toulouse, and the Nederlandse Oper Amsterdam, collaborating with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Herbert Blomstedt, Semyon Bychkov, Michael Gielen, Hartmut Haenchen, Eliahu Inbal, Marek Janowski, and Giuseppe Sinopoli. She has performed in concerts with Concerto Köln, the Berliner Philharmoniker, the orchestra of RAI Torino, the Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester, and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. Her future plans include her debut as Orlofsky at the Glyndebourne Festival in 2006 and engagements at the Oper Köln and the Opéra de Lille. She has frequently recorded for radio and CD, including works by Webern, Reimann, and Rihm.Products
