About Theo Nabicht

The musician and composer Theo Nabicht was born in 1963. 1983–87 he studied at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin, and 1995–97 he studied with Armand Angster at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg, specializing in bass clarinet (master class).

Since 1985 he has been cross-genre, first working mainly as a jazz musician, later performing primarily contemporary and improvised music. Theo Nabicht can be heard on various disc and CD recordings.

He has been a member of the Chamber Ensemble Neue Musik Berlin for many years. Since 2007 Theo Nabicht has played the Selmer double-bass clarinet of Wolfgang Stryi with the friendly assistance of a patron who wishes to remain anonymous. In recent years, the double-bass clarinet has been the focus of his work. In various duos (e.g. Fosil – with Alexandre Babel) and as a soloist he tries to expand the instrument’s tonal spectrum. www.nabicht.de
