About Teresa Erbe
The mezzo-soprano Teresa Erbe was born in Upper Silesia, where she began her musical career as a jazz singer. She later studied singing at the conservatory in Gliwice and at the Hochschule for Music in Katowice. While still a student, she was already a prizewinner in numerous competitions. Following the completion of her studies, Erbe’s first engagement was in 1981 at the Danzig Opera. In 1982, she moved to Germany, where she was engaged by the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen. From 1986-1992, Erbe was a member of the ensemble at the Bremen Opera, where she sang the principal youthful dramatic soprano roles under the direction of Pinchas Steinberg and Marcello Viotti. In 1992, she moved to the Aalto Theater in Essen, in 1998 to the Freiburg Theater, and in 2002 to the Nuremberg State Theater. Erbe has performed numerous concerts, recitals, and guest roles in cities such as Kassel, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Hanover, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Prague, Montpelier, Istanbul, and Cairo.Products
