À propos de Peter Degenhardt

Peter Degenhardt (1937–2019) studied in his hometown of Kassel as well as in Saarbrücken, Cologne, and Budapest. His teachers included Georg Rothlauf, Andor Foldes, and Aloys Kontarsky. Until 2011, he taught as a professor of piano and improvisation at the Cologne University of Music. As a soloist, he performed in numerous concert halls in Europe, the USA, and Australia. With his duo partner Fuat Kent, the New Art ensemble, and also as a soloist, he intensively explored the works of George Crumb. He played jazz-inspired chamber music with saxophonist Hugo Read. He participated in numerous radio, television, and audio recordings. Several of his albums have received awards: among others, the Diapason d'Or in France, for Music for a Summer Evening.
