Jovita Zähl was born in Bensberg near Cologne and studied in Brussels, Cologne, and Düsseldorf. She is grateful to her teachers Helga Pillney-Schafiyha, Karl Hermann Pillney, Pavel Gililov, Jean-Claude Vanden-Eynden, Aloys Kontarsky, and David Levine for her multifaceted piano training. As a soloist, instrumental accompanist, and teacher, she performs works ranging from Baroque to the music of our time. Since the 2000s, New Music has become a particular focus of her activity. In 2010, she founded the piano duo elaeis with Philipp Kronbichler. The duo has performed and recorded repertoire ranging from Classical and Romantic works to contemporary music, including compositions by Philipp Kronbichler. In 2019, the recordings of paradis with works by Friedrich Jaecker were released. Jovita Zähl lives and works in Cologne.
