À propos de Carl Rosman

Carl Rosman, born in England, grew up in Australia and studied clarinet and conducting in Melbourne and Sydney. Already during his studies, he began to specialize in the solo repertoire of contemporary music (Donatoni, Ferneyhough, Barrett…): “I was often told that life is too short to play such music. On the contrary, I think that it is too short not to.”
In Australia, he appeared as a clarinetist and conductor with the ELISION Ensemble and many other groups, such as with the libra ensemble, of which he is a founding member and one of the artistic directors. “The middle of the 1990s were an exceptional time in
Australia — the new music scene flourished and those of us who were just entering professional musical life could bring in everything that they had!” After visiting the Darmstädter Ferienkurse (summer courses at the Darmstadt music school) in 1994, where he was awarded the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis, Rosman began regular concert tours through Europe, which he carried out as a soloist as well as with the ELISION Ensemble or as guest of the Ensemble Modern. Carl Rosman’s move to Europe was inspired by a scholarship from the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart in July 2002.
