About Verdi Quartett

The Verdi Quartet was established in 1985 by violinist Susanne Rabenschlag and violist Karin Wolf; today, the group also includes Matthias Ellinger (2nd violin) and Zoltán Paulich (violoncello). The quartet is a frequent guest at major festivals such as those in Schwetzingen, Ludwigsburg, and Zermatt, as well as the Mozart Festival in Lille and the Orlando Festival in the Dutch city of Kerkrade.

The members of the quartet have been artists in residence at the Oregon Bach Festival in the USA. The Verdi Quartet has played in all the important European concert halls, as well as in Canada, Africa, South Korea, and the USA. Since 2003, the quartet has had a festival of its own, vielsaitig, in cooperation with the city of Füssen in Germany. The festival is a mixture of concerts and master classes for chamber music and soloists. There is also a symposium concerning the building of string instruments.
