About Todd Boyce

Todd Boyce studied singing at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio and was a member of the opera studio at the Bavarian State Opera from 2008–2010. As an ensemble member at the Lucerne Theater (2011–2016), he sang both lyric and Kavalierbariton parts, performing leading roles in Bel canto, Baroque, Romantic, and modern operas, as well as musicals and premieres of contemporary works. Later, at the Konzert Theater in Bern, Boyce established himself as a Mozart singer and also sang important roles such as Figaro in The Barber of Seville, Germont in La Traviata, Marcello in La Bohème, Sharpless in Madame Butterfly, Valentin in Faust, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Harlekin in Ariadne auf Naxos, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Sweeney in Sweeney Todd, Melot in Tristan und Isolde, and Fred in Kiss Me, Kate. He also sang the premiere performances of works by Johannes Maria Staud (Die Antilope) and Thorsten Rasch (Die Formel). Todd Boyce has been a member of the ensemble of the Bielefeld Theater since 2022. As a concert and recital singer, Boyce has appeared with the Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie, the Berner Symphonie orchester, the Lucerne Festival Strings, MusikWerk Lucerne, and at the Residenz Festspiele in Darmstadt, with conductors such as Marco Armiliato, Christian Curnyn, James Gaffigan, Fabio Luisi, and Kirill Petrenko.
