About Philippe Boesmans
Philippe Boesmans, born 1936 in Tongeren, Belgium. Studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Liège. Encounters with composers such as Pierre Froidebise and Henri Pousseur, as well as attendance at the Darmstädter Ferienkurse, led him to become a composer. Has worked as a producer at Belgian radio network RTBF since 1971. Awards: Prix Italia (1971), Prix Arthur Honegger (2000), SACD Music Prize (2004). Composer in residence since 1985 at the Théâtre royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, which has commissioned a number of his compositions.Products
