About Peter Gijsbertsen
Peter Gijsbertsen, tenor, studied at the Utrecht Conservatory, and received additional training from Harry Peeters, Gilbert den Broeder, Cristina Deutekom, and Betty Schuurman. In 2006, Gijsbertsen was accepted into the “Resident Artists Program of the Dutch Touring Opera”. One year later, the young lyric tenor won the John Christie Award in Glyndebourne, where he now performs regularly. Gijsbertsen sang the role of Alméric in Tchaikovsky’s opera "Iolanta" with the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. As Tamino in Mozart’s "Magic Flute", he has performed in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Ghent, andOviedo. Gijsbertsen gave his first solo recital in 2008 with Gilbert den Broeder during Amsterdam’s Grachten festival; the performance was nominated for the Grachtenfestival Prize.www.petergijsbertsen.nl
