About Dauprat Horn Quartet
The Dauprat Horn Quartet was founded in 1983 and is named for the French composer and horn virtuoso Louis-François Dauprat (1781–1868). Peter Bromig, Sebastian Schindler, Daniel Lienhard, and Jörg Dusemund are members of the Southwest German Radio Symphony in Baden-Baden and Freiburg, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, and the Badische Staatskapelle in Karlsruhe. The quartet seeks to perform the most interesting works for four horns from all stylistic periods, and has appeared in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and the Czech Republic. The Dauprat Horn Quartet has been a guest at festivals such as the Rheingau Festival, the Festival de l’Ile de France, the European Weeks in Passau, the Robert Schumann Music Festival in Zwickau, the Weimar Spring Festival for Contemporary Music, and the Gustav Mahler Festival in Toblach.For this recording, Peter Bromig, Sebastian Schindler, and Daniel Lienhard were joined by Felix Hetzel de Fonseca from the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin.
