About Cynthia Oppermann
Cynthia Oppermann, born in New York, is the solo harpist of the Baden-Baden Philharmonic. After studying at Oberlin College in Ohio, she performed with various orchestras in the USA as well as with the national symphony orchestras of Costa Rica and Venezuela before moving to Europe in 1983. She established harp classes at the music schools in Baden-Baden and Rastatt and taught at the Hochschule for Music in Frankfurt in 1997.Oppermann is a devoted chamber music performer. She is currently part of Rüdiger Oppermann’s Rheingold project and is a member of the Trio Blue Ayre, together with Veronika Fuchs and Sally Clarke. A number of CD recordings document Cynthia Oppermann’s broad musical interests.
