About Alexei Grotz
Alexei Grotz, born in Moscow in 1988, has studied piano, harpsichord and historical pianos with Vera Khoroshina, Alexei Lubimov, Yuri Martynov and Jacques Rouvier, as well as composition with Konstantin Batashov. He has been a prize-winner at several piano competitions and a participant at several international festivals and master classes: Klavierfest (Ruhr 2008), Festival of Contemporary Music (Baku 2008), Sankt-Gallen Festival (Steiermark 2008), and the seminar and master class at the Arnold Schoenberg Center (Vienna 2009). Alexei Grotz participated in the Chamber Music Festival in Jerusalem in 2011, performing his own transcription of Alban Berg’s Wozzeck Fragments for piano and string quintet and Schoenberg’s Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte with members of the Aron Quartet (Austria). In recent years, Grotz has performed alongside Alexei Lubimov in several concerts of works by Schoenberg, Berg, Schubert and Ustvolskaya. Grotz and Lubimov have also recorded the four-hand compositions by Franz Schubert.Products
