Johanna Senfter (1879–1961) was a gifted composer who, like many of her contemporaries, was largely forgotten after the rise of the Second Viennese School. Rooted in the late Romantic tradition and inspired by her mentor Max Reger, her 9 Lieder op. 15, composed around 1913, offer expressive, finely crafted vocal miniatures for intermediate singers.
