Rupert Huber, born 1953 in Braunau am Inn, Austria. Studied conducting and composition at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Principal conductor, SWR-Vokalensemble Stuttgart, 1990–2000. Professor of choral conducting, Graz University of Music, 1996–98; chorus conductor, Salzburg Festival, 2002–05. Principal conductor of the WDR Rundfunkchor in Cologne since 2004; artistic director of Chor Werk Ruhr since 2008. Regular Collaboration with ARD Symphony Orchestras. Founder of the Jani Christou Institute in Athens.
