Cordelia Höfer, born in Munich, studied piano with Hans Leygraf at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and with Klaus Schilde at the Musikhochschule in Munich. In Salzburg, she also studied conducting (with Gerhard Wimberger) and chamber music. She acknowledges as further influences Wilhelm Kempff, Sandor Vegh, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Tatjana Nikolajewa, and Elisabeth Leonskaja. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has played with major orchestras and appeared throughout Europe, the USA, South America, Korea, and Japan as well as in international music festivals. In 1991, Höfer began to perform chamber music with members of the Berlin Philharmonic; this collaboration has resulted in numerous concerts. A focal point of her activities since 1999 has been her participation in the “Philharmonic Salon”. Conceived by the Philharmonic cellist Götz Teutsch, it is one of the most successful series of Philharmonic chamber music concerts. With her children Saskia and Leonhard Roczek, she founded a piano trio in 2006. Cordelia Höfer is a professor for piano and chamber music at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. She has made many CD recordings which document her work with Ruggiero Ricci, Thomas Riebl, and Rainer Honeck, among others; the CD Trio!, released in 2009, received numerous awards.
