Christiane Lorenz, flute, studied at the music universities in Detmold andDüsseldorf, where she was strongly influenced by Hans Jürgen Möhring, Paul
Meisen, and James Galway. As a member of notabu.ensemble neue musik, she
has performed with Manfred Trojahn, Heinz Holliger, Sofia Gubaidulina, Beat
Furrer, Wolfgang Rihm, Kaija Saariaho, and Christoph Prégardien. Lorenz is keenly
interested in the music of our time, and has premiered works by composers
such as Sven-Ingo Koch, Christian Banasik, Kunsu Shim, and Yasuko Yamaguchi.
A winner of the German Cultural Prize, she regularly performs the music of the
21st century in the Düsseldorf Tonhalle and elsewhere. Lorenz first recorded
Dimitri Terzakis’s Zwei Märchen for her CD, “Incontri – Begegnungen”.
