À propos de Andrés Maupoint
Andrés Maupoint was born in Santiago de Chile in 1968. He began his pianostudies with Fernando Cortés in 1982, and from 1991 to 1995 studied composition
with Cirilo Vila at the Universidad de Chile, where he graduated with a
diploma. Maupoint was president of Jeunesses Musicales de Chile from 1993 to
1995. From 1997 to 1999, he received a DAAD scholarship to study composition in Leipzig with Dimitri Terzakis at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix
Mendelssohn Bartholdy”, where he received his concert diploma. As an exchange student, Maupoint studied composition with Paul Méfano and electroacoustic music with Luis Naon and Laurent Couniot at the Paris Conservatory.
From 1999 to 2001, he completed a Masters degree in composition with
Terzakis in Leipzig. Maupoint has received numerous awards and prizes. Since
2002, he teaches music theory at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix
Mendelssohn Barthol dy” in Leipzig, and is a member of the Synchronie En -
semble for Contemporary Music.
