The String Quartet No. 6 was commissioned by the Artemis Quartet in 2019 to honor Beethoven on his 250th birthday. In the last movement of the quartet, the third movement (chorale) of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15 appears several times (Heiliger Dankgesang eines Genesenen an die Gottheit).
