About Zoltán Peskó

Zoltán Peskó (b. 1937 in Budapest) was General Music Director at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein from 1995 to 1999. From 2000, he held a master class for young conductors of the Bartók Festival of Szombathely where he conducted the final concert with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007. From 2001 to 2004 he was the principal conductor of the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa and from 2009 to 2011 of the Pannonian Philharmonic Orchestra. The conductor's extraordinary versatility is documented in numerous sound recordings, among them the recording of Dieter Schnebel’s MISSA (WER 62182) which received the German Record Critics‘ Award.
