About Seth Horvitz
Seth Horvitz, born in Los Angeles in 1973, studied Cognitive Science at the University of California in Berkeley (BA 1995) und Electronic Music and Recording Media at Mills College (MFA 2010). He has worked since 1997 as a composer and performer of experimental electronic and Techno music, and his music has been released by various international labels. His Eight Studies for Automatic Piano – which were inspired by the music of James Tenney, György Ligeti, Charlemagne Palestine, and Conlon Nancarrow – employ simple, computer-supported compositional processes to test the limits of human perception and mechanical precision.
