About Pierre-André Valade
Born in 1959 in Brive, France. He was co-founder of the Paris Ensembles Court-Circuit and its conductor until 2008, and has been chief conductor of the Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen since 2009. He is especially known for his performances of music of the twentieth and twenty-first century, and has conducted many orchestras in London, Luxembourg, Paris, Basel, Zürich, Rome and Lisbon. He has also appeared in Aldeburgh, Bath, Strasbourg, Oslo, Nice, Monte Carlo, Perth, Sydney and Tokyo. Awards and honours: Diapason d’or 1999, Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles Cros, and Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
