About Jiemin Yan
Jiemin Yan (Erhu) is currently a Professor and doctoral supervisor at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. Ms. Yan graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music, where she studied Erhu Performance and Composition under Professor Guotong Wang and Professor Zhenmin Xu. Jiemin Yan is active on the performing stage not only in China, but on the international music scene as well. As a recording artist, she has a number of solo albums to her credit. As a performing artist, she has held numerous recitals in many countries and regions in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia, and has performed with many composers and orchestras at some of the world’s most high-profile music festivals. According to De Volkskrant, one of the most influential newspapers in Holland, Ms. Yan was acclaimed as an “electrifying virtuoso” and the “Oistrakh of China”. Billions of people around the world have watched her on CCTV, China’s most watched TV station.
