About Jens BruellsJens Brülls was born in Aachen, Germany. He initially studied percussion at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany. He continued his studies at the Academy of Music in Münster, Germany, and studied jazz percussion at the Saxion University of arts in Enschede, the Netherlands. Above and beyond this, he attended a great number of master classes. He increasingly distinguished himself in contemporary music and improvisation. He was awarded several scholarships, e.g. from 2004 to 2005 a grant from the European Center for the Arts Dresden, and an invitation to the International Ensemble Modern Akademie by Helmut Lachenmann in Schwaz. Intensive concert acitivity with the focus chamber music, theatre and performance. Concert recordings and CD productions among others with NDR, MDR, Radio Bremen, WDR and Deutschlandfunk. Concerts have taken him besides Germany to France, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, Slovenia and Poland.
