Ferdinand David, Born in Hamburg, 1810; died in Klosters, Switzerland, 1873; celebrated Violinist; leader of the Gewandhausorchester in Leisic; co-founder and Professor of Leipsic Conservatory.David was a friend of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, and gave the first Performance of his Violin Concerto in 1845.
