About Corey Field

Corey Field was born 1956 in Los Angeles. He was active as a composer in the 1970s and 1980s, during which time he received many performances, recordings, and awards, and had several works published. He holds a B.A. in Music from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a D.Phil from the University of York, England. With his knowledge of music, Corey entered the international classical music publishing business, serving as the Vice President of European American Music Distributors Corporation (the United States office of Schott and Universal Edition) from 1984 to 1999, at offices in New York and Pennsylvania. In 2002 he completed studies at Widener University School of Law and began a new career as a copyright and entertainment industry attorney, representing many prominent music publishers, film production companies, composers, writers, and others, first as Of Counsel with Ballard Spahr, LLP, then as founder of Corey Field Law Group, P.C., in Los Angeles. He also teaches entertainment law at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and is the principal author of the legal treatise “Entertainment Law: Forms and Analysis” (Law Journal Press).
