Edition Hieber

The music publishing house Max Hieber Musikverlag was founded in Munich in 1884. After initially being continued as ‘Edition Hieber’ by Allegra Musikverlag in Frankfurt from 2002, it has been part of the Mainz-based music publisher Musikverlag Zimmermann since 2016.

Its programme focuses on editions of Bavarian folk music, Alpine choral music, educational works, chamber music and a multi-award-winning series of German-language children’s books on opera with sound recordings. The catalogue includes works by Karl Valentin, Weiß Ferdl, the Well brothers (‘Biermösl Blosn’) and Wilfried Hiller. Its songbook entitled ‘Lied & Song’ is used in class in Bavarian schools.
