One of the most famous German novels in the history of literature: Ludger Vollmer's Buddenbrooks brings Thomas Mann's social study to the opera stage for the first time, more than 120 years after the novel has been first published. On 4 May 2024, the Theater Kiel will present the world premiere of the new opera, directed by Daniel Karasek and conducted by Benjamin Reiners.
Fake news lead to mass panic: Ludger Vollmer's new opera Zusammenstoß (“Collision”) is based on a true event from 1910. It can be seen for the first time on 20 April 2024. Heidelberg Theatre is presenting the world premiere in a production by Christian Brey, with Dietger Holm and Kens Lui as musical directors.
Let’s go see the dinosaurs! On 14 May 2023 the Capitol Symphony Orchestra will perform the world premiere of Ludger Vollmer's Lost World in Offenbach, Germany under the baton of Stefanos Tsialis.
On 18 December 2022, a new production of Ludger Vollmer's "Road Opera" Tschick will celebrate its opening at the Vienna State Opera whilst simultaneously marking the Austrian premiere.
Music to cope with loneliness: In his Concerto for violin, lower strings, wind and percussion Ludger Vollmer gives us an insight into his feelings on onerous lack of freedom. This piece was written for the violinist Gernot Süßmut. He and the Staatskapelle Weimar are going to perform the premiere with Dominik Beykirch as the conductor on the 13th of November in the Weimarhalle.
