Description

"180 Beats per minute“ entstand 1993, kurz nach meiner Schulzeit. Die damals sehr angesagten „Techno-Nights“ inspirierten mich zu diesem Stück. Ein rhythmischer Drive und ein permanenter Wechsel des Pulses jagen in Höchstgeschwindigkeit (180 Schläge pro Minute) vorüber. Die Struktur verdichtet sich zu einer Studie über einen Akkord, der im Prinzip das gesamte Stück hindurch variiert, aber in seinem Tonmaterial unverändert bleibt. Bis sich schließlich das Stück verdichtet zu einem sechs-stimmigen Kanon, der von der ersten Violine bis zum dritten  Violoncello wandert und dabei zwischen Dur- und Moll-Terz pendelt.
