Description
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Opéra Bastille in Paris, Jörg Widmann, together with the artist Anselm Kiefer, has designed a ‘scenic installation’ which bears the title Am Anfang. Apocalyptic texts from Jeremiah and Isaiah are combined with sections of several works by Widmann, the action taking place in a room designed by Kiefer. Performed by the orchestra of the Opéra National de Paris, Widmann’s piece Armonica plays a pivotal role.
