eda records

Originally founded as EDITION ABSEITS in 1990, eda records has brought an extensive amount of peripheral music to the ears of an increasingly attentive audience. In the labels early years, classical chamber music was the main focus of the catalogue, however, eda soon rose to prominence as the first label to promote "suppressed music", featuring the highly praised first recordings of the Theresienstadt composers.

After the turn of the millennium, the generation of composers represented by Franz Schreker, and the avant-garde Russian piano music from the early 20th century became eda's central interest. Following this, eda records went on to document important chamber music works for saxophone and piano, and start an investigation into the consequences of exile and Shoah on Polish musical life, creating a series entitled “Poland Abroad.” Eda is greatful for their band of outstanding performers, many of whom have become close acquaintances of eda during their quest to unearth "suppressed music".

We invite you to join us in our musical venture, there are many fantastic works of the 20th and 21st centuries to be discovered.
