Description
Italian percussionist Giuseppe Galluzzi (born in 1966) has appeared in concert with the Regional Orchestra of Lazio as solo percussionist, and he teaches percussion at the Luigi Mancinelli music school in Orvieto and the Arts Academy in Rome. In addition, he also works as a composer and arranger. Toccata - originally a virtuoso solo work for timpani - was stimulated by two folk dances: the Italian Saltarello and the South American Bayon. A prelude which creates the appropriate atmosphere and tension for the entrance of the Saltarello unites the two dances.
