About Joachim Sponsel

After successfully completing his studies as a graduate musician and his music teacher's examination, Joachim Sponsel became a solo timpanist with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. He then worked for many years for SONOR DRUMS, Europe's largest manufacturer of percussion instruments.

He has performed at festivals and music fairs in Europe, the USA, Japan and Singapore.

Teaching activities at the Musikhochschule Würzburg, the Conservatory of the City of Würzburg, the Bavarian Music Academies, the Bundesakademie Trossingen, the Rock-Jazz Conservatory of the University of Helsinki, as well as at the music schools of Rothenburg o.d.Tauber, Schwabach, Bad Berleburg.

Lecturer at the Berufsfachschule für Musik des Bezirks Mittelfranken [Vocational College of Music of the district of Middle Franconia] at Dinkelsbühl.

Editor and author of many compositions and textbooks for drums, percussion and percussion ensemble.
