Description
The opera Rienzi, der Letzte der Tribunen holds a special place within Wagner’s oeuvre. As a monumental work modelled on the French grand opéra, the opera marks a key starting point in his compositional development. This new edition of the Eulenburg study score follows the musical text from the Richard Wagner critical edition, which reconstructs the original version as far as the fragmentary surviving sources allow. This enables a nuanced insight into the work’s original form.
