Product Details

Description

Free form was an area Mikis Theodorakis was particularly fascinated by: During his compositional career he composed five rhapsodies, four of which are solo concertos. The Rhapsody for trumpet and orchestra was composed in collaboration with the trumpeter Otto Sauter who also gave the world première. The orchestra provides space for playful passages from the solo trumpet which, alongside opulent accompaniment from the orchestra, are occasionally reminiscent of film music from old Hollywood classics.
