About Vytautas Laurušas
Vytautas Laurušas (b. 1930) graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatory (now the Lithuanian Academy of Music) in 1956 under Prof. Julius Juzeliunas. From 1963 until 1975 he was Director and Artistic Director of the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre. From 1975-1983 he was chairman of the board of the 1983 Lithuanian Composers’ Union and from 1994- rector of the Lithuanian Academy of Music. Since 1994 he has been Professor of Composition at the same institute. In 2005, The composer Laurušas was awarded the highest Lithuanian cultural prize - Lithuanian National Prize for Arts and Culture.Products
