About Sefton Cottom
Cottom was born in York, England. He was a chorister at York Minster and a pupil of and later assistant to Sir Edward Bairstow, the Organist and Master of Choristers. He obtained a degree in music from the University of Durham and is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Organists and Trinity College of Music, London. Much of his career has been spent as Director of Music at Pocklington School, Yorkshire, a post from which he retired in 1990. He is now devoting his time to composing and his publications include instrumental and choral music and educational material.Products
