About Rolf Julius
Rolf Julius (*1939 in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, †2011 in Berlin) studied visual arts in Bremen and Berlin from 1961 to 1969. Starting in the late 1970s he began to integrate acoustic elements into his sculptural work and by the mid-1980s, he concentrated intensively on the aural elements in his oeuvre. He liked to call his processes “small art” and presented his installations with natural and prerecorded sounds in a minimalistic form.
