About Jean Baptiste Accolay
Jean Baptiste Accolay was born in Brussels in 1933. He was a teacher, violinist, conductor and composer.His most important work is the 'Concertino No.1 in A minor for violin and piano' (Schott, SF 1931) originally composed for pupils in 1868. It has become known for its strong expressiveness despite the simplicity of the technical means used. He composed further concertos for pupils which today are among the standard works for violin lessons.
