About Ifor James
The Daily Telegraph described Ifor James as "...an artist in whom technique, intellect, integrity and sensibility are so compounded as to place him in the front rank".Numbered among the world’s top horn players, he came to prominence through his outstanding playing in the major orchestras of the United Kingdom, including the Hallé and the ECO. A founder member of the Philip Jones quintet, he spent 15 years with them and left to concentrate on a solo career.
He now tours widely, undertaking concerto performances, broadcasts, masterclasses, chamber recitals and recordings in addition to lecturing and conducting.
