About Guenter Braun
Studied music at the Saarbrücken University of Music. He played the violin, viola and piano and later took up the lute. Worked as a sound engineer at Saarländischer Rundfunk from 1953 until his retirement. Friendship with Siegfried Behrend, Leo Clambour and Franz Probst, who inspired him to compose for plucked string orchestra. He combined voice, oboe, flute, and percussion with the plucked instruments. His appealing fairy tale settings were a novelty for plucked string music.
