About Dariusz Terefenko

Dariusz Terefenko is Associate Professor at the prestigious Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY, USA, where he holds a unique, joint appointment in two departments: Jazz and Contemporary Media and Music Theory. Terefenko is also Coordinator for the Advanced Certificate in the Art of Improvisation. His successful book Jazz Theory – From Basic to Advanced Study has been adopted as a required textbook at music universities and colleges around the world and was translated into the Polish language. Terefenko’s piano solo album, Evidence, offers creative takes on his favorite jazz standards, jazz instrumentals, and own compositions. His latest duo project, Crossing Paths, features alto saxophonist Alexa Tarantino. Terefenko is an active performer and clinician giving piano recitals and masterclasses in USA, Canada, Europe, China, and Brazil.
