About Christopher Tainton

Christopher Tainton entered the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover at the age of eleven to study with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. During this period his talent attracted the attention of conductor Christoph Eschenbach, with whom he has since forged a close musical relationship. After having won several first prizes at various competitions, Christopher Tainton was engaged to perform in many prestigious festivals (e. g., Dubrovnik, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival) under the direction of leading conductors. Since he was eleven years old he has performed with national and international orchestras like the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg under Gerd Albrecht and Richard Hickox and the Philharmonie der Nationen under Justus Frantz. Notable among his many concert appearances is a concert tour through the People's Republic of China. He performed Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos with Christoph Eschenbach and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to having a wide-ranging repertoire from the classical and romantic periods, Christopher Tainton has a great affinity for contemporary music. He also performed together with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Festival and made his debut at the Salzburg Festival.
