About Arend Weitzel

Arend Weitzel is principal timpanist of the Bochum Symphony Orchestra. After studying at the music academies in Stuttgart and Hanover as well as at the orchestra academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, he has concentrated on writing methodological timpani literature. Arend Weitzel's works with studies and exercises are distributed throughout the world and are regarded in many places as standard literature for the study of the timpani.
