Description
I really love the book ‘Trödelmarkt der Träume’ (Flea Market of Dreams) by Michael Ende. I remember when first reading it that the title seemed to fit my way of composing all of my music; gathering old or forgotten things, brushing them off, and putting them on display.
This piece is a violin concerto made up from music, sounds, and recordings that I have found or collected. I wanted to put these things on display like neglected ‘treasure’ on a flea-market stall.
