Lingnan Suite

Lingnan Suite is commissioned by the Guangdong Musicians Association, consisting of four short movements: Waves and Sands, Autumn Stream, The Crane in Sky, and The Red Mount Qi. The music shows the beautiful scenery of Lingnan’s mountains and rivers with the composer’s unique artistic style, as well as the humanistic spirit of Lingnan culture.
In the work Lingnan Suite, it depicts people’s calm and unhurried life and customs in South China through the people’s scenes of the villages in the Lingnan area. This work presents the composer’s unique musical vocabulary, such as the ability to welcome to all, being intelligent, proud and lofty, and magnanimity. In the way of describing the rare characteristics of Lingnan culture in a personal perspective, this work shows a magnificent chapter of Chinese contemporary music depicting the humanistic scenery in South China.
